How long is the MSEC program?
- The MSEC program is a 12-month (3 semester, 6 mini-semester) full-time on-campus
curriculum.
Exactly what degree will I get?
- The Master of Science in Electronic Commerce is a professional master's degree
equivalent to an M.S. in other disciplines. It is not an M.B.A.
which requires a longer course of study.

What background do I need for admission?
- Evidence of strong drive and an ability to bridge the fields of business
and computer science are necessary for admission to the program.
- An undergraduate degree in either a technical discipline such as
mathematics, computer science, engineering or a business discipline such as economics,
business, accounting or management is preferred. An undergraduate degree in another
field is acceptable if you have relevant graduate credits or work experience.
When do classes start this year?
- Classes begin May 7, 2002.
How much does this program cost?
- The tuition for the 2002-2003 12-month program is $42,500.

Is financial aid available?
- There are no institutional grants or scholarships designated for this
program. However, for those individuals who are eligible, federal and private student
loans may be processed through the GSIA financial aid office.
What about students from outside the U.S?
- Applicants from other countries are encouraged. However, you must
meet the same criteria for admission as U.S. applicants. An official translation of
all academic transcripts and other documents must be submitted if the originals are not in
English. Applicants must
have a fluent command of rapid, idiomatic English, read English with ease and be able to
express their thoughts clearly in speech and writing, as demonstrated by success on the
TOEFL examination.
Applicants who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents, should
under no circumstances anticipate funding assistance from the program. International
applicants are required to submit a formal bank certification of finances sufficient to
complete the program based on the budget given above.
Will you help me get a job afterward?
- The full placement facilities of the Graduate School of Industrial Administration are open
to you, including placement advice, on-campus interview rooms and scheduled recruiting
visits.
What happens if I experience difficulty in completing the program?
- We offer counseling and assistance to assist you through the program. In the event
you do not meet the minimum requirements to remain in the program, you may be compelled to
withdraw. In such a case, you will not be asked to pay for any semester in which you
were not enrolled.
